A dream from Bonn that became a school — and then a school group.
The story starts in Germany. Chief Charles Morfaw was studying pedagogy at the University of Bonn when, in 1991, he became Chief of Bellah, a village in Fontem, Cameroon. In 1993 he married Morene Tazitabong, who was finishing her own pedagogy studies in Cologne. Both knew they would return to Cameroon to build a school.
Their conviction was simple: "Our dream was and remains to have a school where both the children of the rich and the poor could study together in a good atmosphere."
They moved from Bonn to Dschang in August 2000 and chose the town on purpose: its climate, its university, its high birth rate — and the fact that it had no bilingual kindergarten or primary school yet. They bought land, built classrooms, and in September 2003 opened with 93 pupils in Kindergarten 1, Kindergarten 2 and Primary 1.
In June 2009, Rainbow's first graduating class scored 100% at both the Government Common Entrance and the First School Leaving Certificate, with more pupils on the West Region's Honours List than any other school. The class of 2010 matched that record.
Rainbow began in Foreke, south of Dschang. Parents from the north of town wanted something closer — many couldn't afford the 31,000 FCFA yearly transport cost — so Rainbow opened a second campus at Foto. Later came Rainbow Integral College (RIC), a day school, and RAIBICOL, the only boarding secondary school in the Menoua division.
From kindergarten onward, children learn in both English and French — a real bilingual foundation for life in Cameroon and beyond.

We founded Rainbow in 2003 with one goal: give children in Dschang a school where discipline, faith and real learning work together. My wife and I studied pedagogy in Germany, then came home to build an education our community could trust. That promise still guides every classroom and every result we share with you.

Rainbow School Complex has an educational partnership with Gesamtschule Seilersee in Iserlohn, Germany. It gives Rainbow students a possible route to further study in Germany.
