From the 2027/2028 academic year, RAIBICOL will run a day section alongside its boarding school, and will open French-language day and boarding sections. Preparations are already under way.
What is changing
RAIBICOL has been a purely Anglo-Saxon boarding school since it opened. Two things change from 2027/2028:
- A day section. Families who live in and around Dschang will be able to send a child to RAIBICOL without boarding — the same classrooms, the same teachers, the same discipline, going home at the end of the day.
- French-language sections, day and boarding. RAIBICOL will teach in French as well as in English, with both a day and a boarding option in the French-language section.
What is not changing
Nothing is being taken away. The English-language boarding school continues exactly as it is: the same daily routine, the same supervision, the same preparation for the GCE Ordinary and Advanced Level. Families already at RAIBICOL do not need to do anything.
Why we are doing it
Two reasons, and they both come from parents. The first is distance: families in Dschang have asked for years for a way to give a child a RAIBICOL education without a bed in the dormitory. The second is language. Rainbow has taught in English and French at kindergarten and primary since 2003. Carrying that all the way through secondary school, in a full French-language section rather than as a subject, is the natural end of the same promise.
What it means for you
If your child is in Class 6 now, or will be in the next two years, this widens what you can choose in Dschang: bilingual kindergarten and primary, then general or technical day school at RIC, then a secondary school at RAIBICOL that can be English or French, day or boarding.
What happens next
Class lists, fee schedules and the admission timetable for the new sections will be published on this site as they are confirmed, and parents on our list will be told first. Nothing is open for registration yet.
