Understanding school fees — and the value behind them

School fees are an investment, not just a cost. Here's how to weigh fees against what your child actually receives.

When comparing schools, it is tempting to look only at the fees. But the better question is: what does my child actually get for them? Here is how to weigh it.

Look at the whole package

Beyond tuition, consider teaching quality, class sizes, facilities like laboratories and a library, supervision, and the results the school produces. A slightly higher fee can mean far better value.

Ask what is included

Clarify what fees cover — and what is extra, such as transport, boarding, uniforms or materials. A clear school states these plainly. Rainbow lays out admission, uniform and fee guidance for each section so families can plan with confidence.

A school for all

From the beginning, Rainbow's dream was a school where children of both the rich and the poor could study together. Affordable transport, for example, was introduced so that distance and cost would not keep good pupils away. The school has always offered scholarships to the children of its own staff members.

Compare value, not just price — and ask the school to explain exactly what your fees provide. For current figures, contact the school directly.
